Apache! (It's not the web server!)
Computer geeks don’t get confused with the apache web server; this is my all new Apache RTR 160 bike which I am writing all about…
The little did I knew about the bikes till the time I decided to buy a bike, once decided I had never ever thought that I would go for this bike! I had thought of the Hero Honda Splendor as my dad has it and I have pretty much ridden that. It’s the day when the Mechanical Engineer turned Software Engineer Murali communicated to this Telecom Engineer turned Software Engineer Prabhu about this bike, thought started in my mind, I would have just discarded the suggestion if any one else could have told this, but this guy is a rider, he has bullet and he has done a riding to Kargil Jammu Kashmir of some 4K odd KM, its just one of the rides, there are many countless! So, when he is suggesting some thing about the bike then I took it very seriously.
The first doubt I raised was the weight of the bike, then power, size etc, etc. but he said it’s the perfect bike for me! Asked me to take a test ride and then decide. It was one Saturday I went with my roommate Veeru to have test ride, I ride the bike and just loved it, and I had no words to explain it, my roommate also told this is very good bike and better than pulsar, as He has ridden pulsar some time, then I decided if I have to buy a bike then this is the bike I would!!! Then just ringed up Murali to thank about the suggesting me this bike .
The counting started as I planned to buy the bike on the auspicious day of Akshaya Tritiya (Basava Jayanti). Spoke with the dealers they said it’s just a day to get the bike then I wasn’t able to hold myself for a day also. Its many days I kept drilling my roommate’s head about the bike, the bike is like this, like that, so and so etc etc… many times he got raged also!!! Hee hee hee …
Monday 5th May booked the bike In Bridgestone, Rajajinagar Bangalore, The sales persons Ramachandra, Naresh helped me in getting at least seat and tank cover free. Bike was ready with registration done on the same day. Got the delivery of the bike on Thursday 8th May. I am very poor at riding, so after taking the delivery of the bike I was just riding the first time, I couldn’t count how many times I stopped!!! Hee hee hee, the funny thing is that on the way in a traffic signal, I just stopped in front of traffic police I just got caught on the very first day on the first ride hee hee hee… He just asked me for the license Thank god I had it… Just got the Pooja (Worship) done in my akka’s (sister’s) house. Then I was on my bike on my way to the office…
Keep visiting soon I’ll update about my driving experiences and some more interesting things about the bike…
